Samurai (brand) Bonsai Tools are probably the longest
established Japanese tool make here in the U.K. first imported by John Ainsworth
a very good friend of ours, author of many Bonsai books and the original owner
of Tokanoma Bonsai until he sold it and started Mystral.
Unfortunately Tokanoma Bonsai has now also recently closed down.
John Ainsworth was the largest wholesale supplier of
Japanese Bonsai Tools, Pots and Sundries here in the U.K. supplying about 80% of the
U.K. dealers until we took over all of his stock shortly before his death a few
years ago.
Other than the two importers of Yagimitsu tools, one in the North the other
South, (both of which are wholesale only) we have probably the largest stock of
Japanese Bonsai Tools of any Bonsai dealer in the UK and actually supply wholesalers
with Tools and Sundries to sell on
to other Bonsai dealers which is why our prices are so low.
Unlike other dealers (who don't actually import themselves), going on about the
cost of freight (which has actually come down and not gone up), and the £
against the Yen (which is admittedly worse) and having to increase their prices
ours will remain the same as they have done for the last few years.
In fact if you are a Bonsai Society or Dealer and buy a reasonable amount we
will even discount what are probably already the lowest genuine Japanese Tool prices in
the U.K. at the moment.
If anyone sells tools cheaper than this they are either Chinese or "Japanese Quality" from China as one of our suppliers keeps trying to sell us without any luck.
